This model set was commissioned by London zoo. The brief was to show a cross section of the nest and how as soon as the baby turtles are out of the egg nest they are naturally drawn to the Sea.
The top sand section was 3D printed in 9 parts on our Filament printers, the parts were then joined and coated with sand. The nest chamber and the eggs were also printed on the filament printers.
The Turtles were all printed on our SLA printers to ensure we capture all the detail. And eventually hand painted.
The model is at 2/1 scale or double the size of the real ones.
